Our client is a world leading Firefighting company manufacturer based in Basildon. They’re looking to appoint an experienced Quality Control Engineer. You will have the opportunity to investigate the main causes of failures and implement improvements to prevent recurrence of failures; whilst managing and taking responsibility for routine Quality activities.

 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to:

  • Coach and guide the team while being a team player

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain quality standards while also creating new ideas and implementing them
  • Maintain quality documentation such as reports and procedures
  • Continuous improvement to enhance the products and environment through training and work instructions
  • Liaise with managers and operators to ensure the smooth introduction of new products and processes and for reporting and reducing quality issues
  • Work with cross-functional teams to generate Manufacturing Inspection Test Plans that ensures good quality products are produced
  • Inspect to ensure that products and processes comply with requirements, using established engineering techniques
  • Conduct audits, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions
  • Analyse customer warranty returns and implement corrective and preventive plans/actions
  • Responsible for organizing and managing the activities of receiving and outgoing quality functions
  • Ensure quick resolution of supplier quality failures, and implement corrective and preventive actions, through working with Purchasers and Department Managers
  • Preparation of QA reports

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Mechanical and Production Engineering qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Quality/ Inspection role and in a Production Engineering environment
  • Preferable, be able to show a good knowledge of fire business and its applications
  • Capable of making independent decisions; whilst being appreciative existing protocols and liaising with department mangers
  • Excellent organisational and strong verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience.
